Getting Started Checklist

  • Step 1.

Introduce JOMO(campus) to all staff who will support the initiative at your school. At this stage, you should share a high-level overview of the program and why digital well-being matters at your school.

    Use this template:

    Dear Staff,

This year, we implemented the (your specific) technology policy with the goals of:

    • list goal

    • list goal

    • list goal

We continue to focus on these goals as we work towards finding a healthy balance in a wired world. This is why [your school name] is excited to partner with JOMO(campus) to introduce a digital well-being program this year.

What is digital wellness and why do we care about it? Digital wellness is the mindful management of technology to help us be more present to the joys around us. At [your school name], this matters to us because ____.

What is JOMO? JOMO is the Joy Of Missing Out on life-taking things like social comparison, mindless scrolling, and digitally driven distraction to make space for what matters most. JOMO(campus) is a program developed to promote digital well-being for every student, empowering school communities to deepen learning and engage with technology in healthy ways that allow joy, connection, focus, and flourishing in classrooms, hallways, and homes.

    How does JOMO(campus) work?

    The program supports learners through:

    • regularly decluttering digital environments

    • setting achievable wellness goals

    • reflecting on activities that bring life and joy

The program will include simple staff training to help staff understand JOMO and how to integrate a four-week JOMO Digital Well-Being Challenge into classrooms.

We look forward to welcoming Christina Crook, the founder of JOMO, on [insert virtual or in-person date] to discuss this program and how we can work together towards digital well-being at [your school name].
